1. What Internet access services does HTC offer?
HTC offers dial-up and high-speed Internet access. Our systems are designed to provide redundant access using our telephone and cable networks.

2. How does HTC NetRacer Cable Modem work?
Computers are connected to the Internet using a high-speed modem and an HTC fiber-optic/coaxial network and server systems.

3. How does HTC NetRacer DSL work?
Computers are connected to the Internet using a high-speed modem and an HTC copper twisted pair telephone line and server systems.

4. What is the difference between HTC NetRacer Cable Modem and HTC NetRacer DSL service?
HTC NetRacer Cable Modem service utilizes the existing HTC Cablevision loops and HTC NetRacer DSL uses the existing HTC telephone line.

5. How fast is NetRacer?
Both HTC NetRacer Cable Modem and DSL access provide blazing fast speeds up to 3MBPS (and in some cases higher) download and up to 300kbps upload. Many factors affect the speed of access, including distance, load, Personal Computer available memory, as well as, world wide web activity.

6. Will I need Cable TV service or telephone service in order to get HTC NetRacer?
While you are not required to subscribe to HTC Cable or telephone service, the HTC network must be provided to your location in order to receive that type of high-speed access. In addition, there may be a price difference for those customers who do not subscribe to the network serving the type of high-speed access.

You may use your own modem, provided it is an HTC approved model. HTC NetRacer service includes a high-speed modem that has been tested to provide maximum performance.

10. What should I do to make my PC secure while using HTC NetRacer?
Security is of utmost importance to HTC and all our internet customers. The HTC policies are established to protect all our high-speed customers by requiring protection from customers spreading viruses and worms. HTC provides links to free software for anti-virus protection, firewall protection, pop-up blockers, and SPAM protection.

11. To what am I agreeing when I use HTC NetRacer?
Please refer to our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Service Agreement links at the bottom of our HTC NetRacer home page. In addition, you may have signed a term agreement at the point of installation and received a copy of that specific agreement at that time.
