Quarantine Email Notification:
Any SCCoast.net email account that has emails quarantined will receive an email from HTC Barracuda Email Protection. This email will indicate that you have emails quarantined and include a link to access your spam quarantine. Your HTC Barracuda Email Protection Quarantine Inbox lets you review and decide what to do with your quarantined emails.
Quarantine Inbox:
To access your Barracuda Quarantine Inbox, simply click on the link in the HTC Barracuda Email Protection notification email. Once you are in your Quarantine Inbox, you will see your quarantined email list chronologically organized. You will see the "Time Received", the "From" email address and the "Subject" line. Emails automatically delete after 15 days.

For each email you will be able to:
- Deliver the email to your SCCoast.net email box. This releases the email.
- Whitelist the sender's email address so emails from this sender will not be quarantined in the future.
- Delete the email. This step is not required because messages older than 15 days are automatically removed, but you can immediately delete messages using this link.
You can select to perform an action to the entire list by clicking on the box next to "Time Received From", and then clicking on "Deliver", "Whitelist", or "Delete".
Quarantine Filter:
HTC Barracuda Inbox provides a tool that will allow you to more easily find a particular quarantined email. For example, if you are expecting an email notice regarding an online purchase from ABCStore@abcstore.net you can select to search for any email where the "From" contains "ABCStore", or where the "Subject" or "Message" contains certain words.

IS Filter:
"From" contains:ABCStore@abcstore.net
"Pattern": Online order
NOTE: Be sure to click "Apply Filter" to begin search.
Preferences:
HTC has established default Preference levels that we have determined will reduce the majority of your Spam without blocking valid emails. The Preference portion of your HTC Barracuda Email Protection Account allows you to manage your Whitelist, adjust Quarantine and Spam Settings, and create new passwords. If you are satisfied with the initial results of Barracuda, we recommend not making any changes to the Spam Settings.
Whitelist/Blacklist:
If you have selected Whitelist for any Quarantined emails, the sender's email address will be added to the Whitelist Email Addresses.
Whitelist - emails from the addresses in the whitelist list will be delivered to go to your SCCoast.net email account; emails will not be quarantined or blocked. This is the preferred method of guaranteeing delivery of an email from a known address. NOTE: It is not necessary to add each email address in your Address book to this list, only add those considered quarantined as spam.
Blacklist - emails from the addresses in the blacklist will be deleted at the server; emails will not be delivered or quarantined. If you want to ensure that you receive emails from a particular email address, be sure to add that email address to your Whitelist. NOTE: It is not necessary to add each quarantined email address to the Blacklist because future emails from these same addresses will continue to be automatically quarantined. You only need to add to the blacklist specific, known addresses from whom you do not want to receive mail.

Quarantine Settings
In this section, you can control the frequencies, language and email address where you want to receive Quarantine Notifications.
Notification Interval - You can elect to receive quarantine notification Daily, Weekly, or Never. We have set your default at: Weekly.
Notification Address - You can change the email address where you receive quarantine notification. NOTE: Be sure to click Save Changes in the upper right corner to make any adjustment.

Spam Settings:
If you are satisfied with the initial results of Barracuda, we recommend not making any changes to the Spam Settings. Unfortunately, there is no proven technology that will completely eliminate all Spam. You are encouraged to use the default settings for a while before deciding to make any changes.
Use System Defaults - HTC has selected "Yes" so that your account uses the system defaults. These defaults have been tested and are found to quarantine a majority of spam without blocking expected emails. You do not need to make any changes to this page if you are satisfied with your quarantine results. The lower the score the stronger the restriction.
Default Scores:
| Tag | 10 |
| Quarantine | 2 |
| Block | 7 |
Tag Score provides a brief description in the Subject line for emails in your Quarantine Inbox. EX: [may be spam]. We have disabled this feature because emails in your Quarantine Inbox are already considered spam and do not require a description tag.
Quarantine Score determines the level at which emails will be analyzed for spam qualities. The lower the score, the less spam you will receive in your SCCoast.net email box. We found a considerable amount of spam is blocked at score 2.
Block Score indicates the level at which emails will be determined unacceptable for delivery and eliminated at the HTC email servers. Blocked emails are not kept in the Quarantine Inbox, nor are you sent a notice that they have been blocked. The lower the Block Score the more likelihood of having emails deleted at the server. Note: Blocked emails are deleted at the HTC email servers and are not retrievable by anyone.
If your individual needs require you to change your settings to be more or less restrictive, you will need to select "No" at the "Use System Defaults" and then click "Save Changes" so you can make adjustments. Note: Be sure to click "Save Changes" in the upper right to make adjustments.
Tips: Quarantine Score should always be less than Blocked.
No two Scores should be the same.

Password:
Your HTC Barracuda Email Protection Account is password protected. However, there are two ways to access your account without knowing your password.
- If you access your account using the link included in the notification email from HTC Barracuda Email Protection, there is no need for a Username/Password.
- If you forget your password during Login you can provide your Username email address and click Create New Password and the link and a new password will immediately be sent to your email notification account.
The password for this account is different from your SCCoast.net user password but can easily be changed in the Password section of your account's "Preferences".
